PROCESS
Here's a look at the interactivities we have created. Please choose at least 2 to complete over the next week.
In interactivity A, you will explore an instraGrok, which provides background information on behaviourist theory. If you need a refresher on behaviourism and are interested in learning how to use instaGrok, this might be the interactivity for you.
In interactivity B, you will investigate Class Dojo, an online classroom management tool that is based on behaviourism principles. You will be presented with the pros and cons of this program and will be asked to determine your stance on it. If you're curious about Class Dojo, this interactivity might be for you.
In interactivity C, you will learn how behaviourism theory is being used to assist learners with Autism through Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA). After watching behavioural therapy sessions, you will complete a group task. If you ever encounter children with Autism, this interactivity will be very practical.
In interactivity D, you will listen to an audio-visual presentation that walks you through the history and theory behind Fred Keller's Personalized System of Instruction (PSI). Developed for higher education, PSI is grounded in Skinner's operant conditioning strategies.
In interactivity E, you will be asked to chose a person or pet from your own life to whom you will apply behaviourism techniques. Using positive and negative reinforcement, apply the techniques and observe the behaviour change! At the end of the week log on to the discussion and share your experience.
